Fashion Week Favorites: Spring RTW 2013

I always prefer Spring/ Summer fashion oppose to Fall/ Winter. Mainly because I am a sucker for dresses! I wear dresses all year round and am always trying to find new and interesting ways to make it season appropriate. Below are some of my favorite looks from New York Fashion Week. Alice + Olivia- This dress reminds me of Marimekko and other mid-century like linens and textiles.


Alice + Olivia- Kelly green is such a classic color. This vintage inspired look screams 1950's poodle girl with the caridgan, full skirt, and stripes. I love it.


Anna Sui- I absolutely love lace macrame. This is such an edgy yet delicate look. Definitely something I would wear to my own wedding after party.


Anna Sui- If you are familiar with Karen Alexander then you know that this dress is reminiscent of her signature style of a 1980's does 1950's floral tea party dress.


Chris Benz- I love the contrast of feminine and masculine silhouettes.

The Northwest Collection: Exclusive Collection Available only at Moksha

I got my first taste of fashion while working at Moksha Boutique & Gallery during college. I have long admired the shop and developed some lifelong friendships there. Moksha has been around for over a decade, and is a Seattle staple among local artists, musicians, and fashionistas. Anyway, thanks to my good friend Elvia (Moksha's creative force and head girl in charge) I have a pop-up at Moksha. With Fall just right around the corner I curated a set of vintage goodies called "The Northwest Collection". Knitted girlish sweaters, indian blanket wrap skirts, Pendleton plaid tops, ponchos, and more. Check it out!

BadWill Market: Gidget's First Pop Up

When I'm not focusing my energy into Gidget I produce an indie marketplace called BadWill Market. So far the event has been a great success. It was my third market and I couldn't be happier with how it all turned out. I like to draw the line and keep projects separate, but I thought it would be foolish to not have Gidget at this event! Below are some photos. 

I did minimal promotion for Gidget prior to the event, but I just had to put the logo on the loop video that was being played throughout the event! Check it out.

I didn't decide until 2 days before the event to have a booth at BadWill. So I made some quick tags at Kinkos. They are not my favorite, but they did the job.

Jene from Wear The Canvas was my neighbor at the market! She purchased two dresses from my booth and looks amazing in them!

A satisfactory photo of my clothing rack. I didn't really work on the presentation of my booth because I was busy running around and making sure everything else was running smoothly, but it will have to do!

What to Wear: Outdoor Wedding Attire

It's wedding season ladies! Even if you aren't the bride or in the wedding party, your outfit still matters and needs to make a great impression. Women often worry about what to wear to a wedding and fuss over the following details: Is the dress too formal or too casual? Is the dress too sexy? Is it appropriate? Is my dress going to bring too much attention? Are the colors suitable?

When you are picking a dress out for an outdoor summer wedding you need to consider being comfortable enough to move around and dance, staying classy, and avoiding the following colors such as solid whites, reds, and blacks. In our shop we have chosen the following dress options as proper wedding attire!


Bringing Up Baby Chiffon Dress- Stunning vintage 1920's- 30's drop waist dress. Great color, lightweight, and classic!

Little Darlin Roses Sweetheart Dress- 1980's dress with tiered skirt, sweetheart corset bodice. This dress is playful, dainty, and stylish.


Tulip Festival Halter Tiered Dress- Late 1970's, early 1980's halter tiered dress. Super cute floral print, and great silhouette. No need to over accessorize with this number. Just a pair of cute summer wedges and fun clutch!


Kelly Green Silk Dress- Not sure what year this dress is from, but it looks like a 1980's print with a 1950's dress pattern. Feels like 100% silk. Vibrant and a classic shape. Would look great with a cardigan, and pumps!
