Crushin On: Funny Girl Aubrey Plaza

I first got hip to Aubrey Plaza in season 1 of Portlandia, where she played a house sitter and a student in a couple of skits. Her big brown eyes, dry humor won me over! If there is anything I love more in a girl, it's when they're beautiful, smart, witty, and hilarious. Not to mention the girl has style! Below are some of my favorite Aubrey Plaza outfits and looks.

 

Featured Designer: Stephen Burrows

Stephen Burrows- A master at color-blocking and a fashion designer who isn't afraid to use all the crayons in the box! Stephen started his design career selling custom pieces to friends and fashionistas, and later opening a hip and trendsetting boutique. Burrows landed his big break when he designed under Henri Bendel, and from there his designs exploded and became an iconic part of the disco 1970's era!

Style Icon: Funny Girl, Barbara Streisand

I've always loved Barbara's movies. From Funny Girl, to A Star is Born, among her other classics. I feel like she has a say in the clothing she wears in her films and public appearances. I'm sure she has a team of stylists and professionals, but Barbara definitely has her own style. I became even more intrigued with Barbara after reading her home tour interview in Harpers' Bazaar. Amazing! She's a true fashion historian! She has themed rooms of her antique clothing and gems. And she's the kind of woman who wore a Victorian era dress in the 1970's. Below are some of my favorite looks of Barb, both off screen and on screen.

Fashion Week Favorites: Spring RTW 2013

I always prefer Spring/ Summer fashion oppose to Fall/ Winter. Mainly because I am a sucker for dresses! I wear dresses all year round and am always trying to find new and interesting ways to make it season appropriate. Below are some of my favorite looks from New York Fashion Week. Alice + Olivia- This dress reminds me of Marimekko and other mid-century like linens and textiles.


Alice + Olivia- Kelly green is such a classic color. This vintage inspired look screams 1950's poodle girl with the caridgan, full skirt, and stripes. I love it.


Anna Sui- I absolutely love lace macrame. This is such an edgy yet delicate look. Definitely something I would wear to my own wedding after party.


Anna Sui- If you are familiar with Karen Alexander then you know that this dress is reminiscent of her signature style of a 1980's does 1950's floral tea party dress.


Chris Benz- I love the contrast of feminine and masculine silhouettes.
